APPEAL: Tory Lanez files to appeal Megan Thee Stallion shooting conviction

APPEAL. Tory Lanez files to appeal the Megan Thee Stallion shooting conviction made in December 2022.

Three months after the conviction, rapper Tory Lanez filed to appeal the decision. Lanez’s attorneys claim that “irrelevant evidence” was used in the trial and that the prosecutors made a “reversible error” when they threatened the use Lanez’s rap lyrics in the trial.

As it stands, Lanez is facing 22 years in prison after being charged with one felony count each of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. Lanez will also most likely be deported back to Canada.
