WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY?: Soulja Boy’s Ex Requests $2 Million Default Judgment for Failure to Respond to Lawsuit

In January of this year, a suit was filed against rapper Soulja Boy accusing him of being the aggressor in a physical altercation with an alleged on and off again girlfriend in which he allegedly pistol whipped her amongst other egregious acts. The suit’s petitioner, Kayla Myers, filed a suit for assault and battery, false imprisonment and sexual battery.

It seems that Soulja has not yet responded to the suit and therefore Myers is requesting a default judgment. She is asking the court to award her $2 million in damages plus an additional $20, 615.25.

In California, where the suit was filed, in order to obtain a default judgement, the plaintiff must show i) the defendant was served with Summons and Complaint, ii) the time for responding has passed (30 days), iii) defendant failed to file a response, and iv) the defendant must have been served with a Statement of Damages. Obviously more than a few months have passed since the filing of the suit so Myers may have a shot at obtaining the requested default judgement if she served Soulja with a Statement of Damages.

Why do you think Soulja Boy hasn’t responded?
