Maxwell Not So Well.

Ghislaine Maxwell has finally appeared in court for sex trafficking charges by New York Federal Prosecutors. “When asked how she wished to plead, she answered “not guilty, your honor,” according to multiple news outlets.”

Authorities believe Maxwell helped her longtime companion, Jeffrey Epstein,  sexually abuse girls as young as 14. In August of 2019, Epstein committed suicide in jail while awaiting charges for a sex trafficking operation. Allegedly, Epstein and Maxwell would “groom” the girls for various inappropriate sexual activities.

“Sex Trafficking” is a class B felony in New York. If the allegations are true, Maxwell could face year’s imprisonment. The court could also impose high fines. Maxwell is facing serious allegations with many potential serious consequences.

Prosecutors believe Maxwell is a flight risk. Therefore, the judge denied bail after pleading not guilty. Maxwell is expected to remain in jail until trial. Maxwell will appear in court again next month. Her trial date has been set for July 2021.
