Kyrie Irving was benched from playing after refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine. He has been barred from practicing with the team or playing home games for defying the team’s requirement that all players be vaccinated. Hundreds of anti-vaxxers gathered infront of the Brooklyn Barclay Center to support his decision. The mob shouted “Let Kyrie Play” and “No Vaccine Mandate.”

Although the NBA has not mandated the vaccine, the city of New York has. In order to play Kyrie will need to get vaccinated.
