On Wednesday, the Justice Department officially announced charges would not come for Baton Rouge police officers Blane Salamoni and Howie Lake II.<\/p>\n

Multiple celebrities including Attorney and CNN correspondent Angela Rye and Actress Gabrielle Union reacted to the startling news:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sterling, a father of five, was gunned down in July 2016 as officers investigated reports of a man with a gun. Sterling, whose death was captured on video<\/a>, was selling CDs in front of a convenience store when he was confronted by the police.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Despite the DOJ decision, there\u2019s still hope for a legal remedy for Sterling\u2019s family. Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry is considering whether to bring state charges.<\/p>\n

Sterling’s mother is asking everyone to remember his name and for Landry to help their family get justice<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cSo, Jeff Landry, please open up your heart, your eyes, and give us the justice that we deserve,\u201d McMillan said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n

Sterling’s son said in a statement mentioned in the Huffington Post report:<\/p>\n

\u201cI have my brothers and sisters to look after,\u201d Cameron said at the news conference Wednesday. \u201cEleven of them. I have to look after every last one of them because, guess what? I\u2019m that next legacy. I\u2019m here after my dad. My dad is now long gone, so now I\u2019m here. I\u2019m that legacy and I have to look after those kids.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
