She and the fellow 14 alleged children of the late rapper will all be DNA tested to confirm their paternity.\u00a0DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/04\/09\/dmx-ny-hip-hop-icon-dead-at-50\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">died in early April<\/a>\u00a0aged 50 following a cocaine-induced heart attack, leaving no will and few liquid assets.\u00a0The development comes as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/06\/19\/battle-kicks-off-over-rapper-dmxs-estate\/\">the battle over DMX\u2019s estate<\/a>\u00a0and all future earnings from his music takes a new turn.\u00a0On Friday, Judge Helen Blackwood appointed DMX\u2019s three sons Xavier, Tacoma and Sean Simmons from his 16-year marriage to Tashera Simmons as the temporary administrators of the estate of their late father.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/NINTCHDBPICT000645302357.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4810 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/NINTCHDBPICT000645302357-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/NINTCHDBPICT000645302357-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/NINTCHDBPICT000645302357-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/NINTCHDBPICT000645302357-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/NINTCHDBPICT000645302357-1600x1067.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Nass said the lack of a will from DMX had further complicated setting up the estate. \u201cI want to point out that when a person dies without a will, a surety bond needs to be posted, and obtaining a bond is difficult.\u00a0The term \u201cintestacy\u201d refers to dying without a will.\u00a0If a decedent is survived by children but no spouse, the children inherit everything in equal shares. If a decedent is survived by a spouse, their assets are handled differently depending on whether the assets are community or separate property.
