\u201cUnCivil\u201d Karen?<\/p>\n

Coined in an IG post but deleted by Jessie Woo, Woo calls Karen \u201cMs UnCivil\u201d, after posting the court documents of their case. Karen Civil is a digital marketing strategist that has worked with top rap artists and the like; however, Jessie Woo called her out over the weekend. The Love & Hip Hop star posts to IG the Tentative Ruling of the Cali Courts striking all claims and dismissing Civil\u2019s case. Not to be left out, Joyner Lucas brought up his previous $60k beef with Civil a day after Woo\u2019s posts. Lucas claims the marketing strategist took advantage of him when he was \u201cdesperate\u201d. Lucas claimed that Civil had basically took the money and ran and that Civil \u201cstopped answering phone calls\u201d and when Lucas could get her on the phone answered \u201cwith attitude\u201d.<\/p>\n

In the case Woo posted, Civil brought suit with claims of defamation, false light, unjust enrichment and IIED. Important to note that Civil brought Woo to court, presumably to force Woo to pay for what Woo claims was a fictitious appearance that was made to \u201cembarrass & intimidate\u201d her. Woo fought back and got the win with the courts permission to move to receive attorneys\u2019 fees from Civil. For Lucas\u2019 issue neither party has made news of any legal fillings. Civil\u2019s legal team did reach out to Lucas around the time the original issue started to have him delete, desist, and denounce the claims he posted to Twitter. Civil put out a statement saying that she did her job, and that Lucas just doesn\u2019t know the business and is trying to ride the news wave of another issue for personal gain.<\/p>\n

Regardless of if Lucas\u2019 claims are true it does seem like the marketing strategist has some flaws in the plan. For one the actual court rulings say a lot of Civil and the claims against her. If Lucas\u2019s claims are presumed true, the entertainment industry might need to take a second look at Civil and her dealings. On the other hand, it could be true that Lucas really does not understand the marketing game and is misunderstanding the relationship he was supposed to have with her. In either case, Civil needs to get it together, and tighten up ship.<\/p>\n
