The Bachelor show host Chris Harrison stated he consulted with Warner Bros and ABC and will be stepping aside from the show for a period of time. Harrison stated “I want to give my heartfelt thanks to the people from these communities who I’ve had enlightening conversations with over the past few days, and I am so grateful to those who have reached out to help me on my path to anti-racism.” On an interview Harrison was dismissive of the racist actions of a contestant on the show. The contestant was allegedly\u00a0photographed at an antebellum plantation themed event.<\/p>\n

Contracts can contain morality clauses. A moral clause prohibits an artist from engaging in conduct that will bring either the artist or the other party to the contract\u00a0into public disrepute, scandal, embarrassment, or cast a bad light on the company’s reputation. The reason for Harrison stepping aside can allegedly be a morality clause in which the producers did not want to be in a bad light for the racist actions of the host.<\/p>\n
