{"id":3147,"date":"2020-08-24T16:03:09","date_gmt":"2020-08-24T21:03:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/?p=3147"},"modified":"2020-08-25T13:36:34","modified_gmt":"2020-08-25T18:36:34","slug":"marriage-mayhem-stacey-dashs-husband-jeffrey-marty-files-for-annulment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/home\/marriage-mayhem-stacey-dashs-husband-jeffrey-marty-files-for-annulment\/","title":{"rendered":"MARRIAGE MAYHEM: Stacey Dash&#8217;s Husband Wants Annulment Claiming Hypnotism"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Stacey Dash\u2019s estranged husband, Jeffrey Marty, has filed to have their marriage annulled.\u00a0 Marty, a lawyer, claims he was hypnotized by Dash and her pastor, to get him to consent to their union.\u00a0 Dash announced this past April that the two had split, and in June she filed for divorce.<\/p>\n<p>Marty and Dash married on April 6, 2018. \u00a0Marty claims that Dash\u2019s pastor \u201cunexpectedly and suddenly proclaimed that it was God\u2019s will\u201d they wed.\u00a0 He did not elaborate on the hypnotic techniques allegedly used.<\/p>\n<p>Dash has not admitted to Marty\u2019s claims, but has noted that she also would like the marriage annulled as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/stacey-dash-jeffrey-marty-getty-1200x630.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3148\" src=\"http:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/stacey-dash-jeffrey-marty-getty-1200x630-300x158.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"158\" srcset=\"https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/stacey-dash-jeffrey-marty-getty-1200x630-300x158.jpg 300w, https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/stacey-dash-jeffrey-marty-getty-1200x630-768x403.jpg 768w, https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/stacey-dash-jeffrey-marty-getty-1200x630-1024x538.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/stacey-dash-jeffrey-marty-getty-1200x630.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dash and Marty married in Florida, which means an annulment must fit in to Florida law.\u00a0 Under Florida law, a marriage must meet at least one of the following criteria for an annulment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lack of, or inability to consent: if someone did not have the mental capacity to consent to the marriage;<\/li>\n<li>Bigamy: When the person someone married is already married to another person;<\/li>\n<li>Impotence: When one of the spouses knows that they are impotent and did not disclose it to the other prior to the marriage;<\/li>\n<li>Fraud: If a spouse withheld certain facts that would have prevented someone from marrying them in the first place;<\/li>\n<li>Force: If threatened into it by force, duress, or coercion;
