Triller seeks an unspecified amount in damages and maintains the alleged infringement hurt Triller\u2019s growth.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/triller.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2882 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/triller-300x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/triller-300x150.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/triller-768x384.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/triller.jpeg 940w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit centers on the TikTok feature \u201cGreen Screen Video\u201d released last year that allows users to shoot multiple video takes matched to an audio track. Triller claims that TikTok lifted &#8220;systems and methods&#8221; for creating music videos synchronized with an audio track, which Triller received a U.S. patent for in June 2017. The scope of this 2017 patent will be key to the lawsuit, as it will define the extent of the protection granted.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit comes on the heels of comments made by President Trump that he is \u201clooking at\u201d banning TikTok in the U.S. because of its data collection practices and connections to the Chinese government.
