Johnny Depp has accused Amber Heard of hitting him with a “haymaker” punch during an altercation near the end of their volatile marriage.<\/p>\n

Depp spoke of the accusation during the testimony of his libel suit in the UK, against News Group Newspapers, publisher of The Sun, and the paper’s executive director, over an article that accused him of domestic abuse and referred to him as a “wife-beater.”<\/p>\n

During his testimony he recounted that Heard’s “punch” came after her 30th birthday party in April 2016, which he attended after a ‘bad meeting’ with a business manager. At the meeting, Depp had learned that $650 million had been stollen by his previous business managers.<\/p>\n

Depp claimed that Heard had been drinking heavily and punched him in the face four times. Depp allegedly grabbed Heard’s arms in an attempt to stop her. He also stated that he could not have grabbed Heard by the head and punched her in the face because he was wearing a cast on a broken finger.<\/p>\n

Depp alleged that Heard threw a “haymaker” at him, which he described to the judge as a “type of a wild swing, a roundhouse punch… effective if it reaches the target.”<\/p>\n

Various news outlets have claimed that Depp had attacked Heard throughout their past relationship, however, Depp claims that this is all a ‘choreographed hoax.’<\/p>\n
