Barrett uploaded a video to TikTok suggesting that Hailey had cosmetic surgical work done on her face to enhance her features. He infers in the video that\u00a0Hailey has undergone genioplasty (chin augmentation), rhinoplasty (nose augmentation), cheek fillers, and has gotten lip fillers. The video soon went viral with many believing that Hailey had indeed went under the knife to achieve her supermodel looks.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"688\" height=\"387\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-u3cRQykP9U?start=6&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Justin and Hailey promptly issued a cease and desist letter to the doctor, demanding that he remove the video. The letter from the Bieber&#8217;s lawyers alleges that he is using Hailey&#8217;s name, image and likeness in his video without permission to advertise his practice and &#8220;spread false, uncorroborated claims that Mrs. Bieber has undergone plastic surgery.&#8221; To make matters worse, Barrett is also being accused of copyright infringement for his use of lyrics from Justin&#8217;s song, &#8220;Sorry,&#8221; in the TikTok caption.<\/p>\n<section id=\"cb-2a39be69528d3742fb7e065854301053\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-text-block canvas-text-block-permalink canvas-text-block--default \">The couple&#8217;s legal team further states that the TikTok video includes a number of violations, including &#8220;misrepresentation, defamation, slander, false light, violation of rights of publicity, copyright infringement, trademark and service mark infringement&#8221; and more.\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: inherit;font-size: 1.125rem\">They demanded that Barrett take down the video and issue a public retraction in the next 24 hours, or else he would face a potential lawsuit.\u00a0<\/span><\/section>\n<section><\/section>\n<section><a href=\"http:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/biebs.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2223 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/biebs-300x225.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/biebs-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/biebs-768x577.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/biebs-1024x769.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/biebs.jpeg 1100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/section>\n<section class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-text-block canvas-text-block-permalink canvas-text-block--default \">&#8220;I received a cease-and-desist letter from attorneys claiming to represent her and Justin Bieber demanding that I remove the post and issue an apology. They claimed that I was defaming her and using copyrighted lyrics and her likeness,&#8221; Dr. Barrett said in a statement. &#8220;I was definitely shocked as I was simply sharing my opinion on what I thought she may have had done. I felt like I was being bullied. I do not make money off of the TikTok account and the &#8216;cease and desist&#8217; was overreaching.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Barrett told TMZ that he has no intentions to remove the video as he does not believe his comments made in it were disparaging.\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: inherit;font-size: 1.125rem\">He further states that his video is only intended to educate about plastic surgery, and that he will deal with the legal ramifications of keeping the video up.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tik&#8217;d Off.
