Nick Cannon, Ariana Grande, Halsey, J. Cole, and more musicians join protests over George Floyd\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

While many artists have shared their outrage over the death of George Floyd and their commitment to the Black Lives Matter movement, many have also taken to the streets to speak out. Celebrities in the US, Canada, UK, and around the world are joining the protests to fight for an end to systemic racism and police brutality.<\/span>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

On May 29, Nick Cannon marched in Minneapolis while wearing a hoodie with the words \u201cPlease I Can\u2019t Breathe.\u201d Lil Yachty also showed up and stated, \u201cI feel like we gotta stand for something or we\u2019ll fall for anything, you know what I\u2019m saying.\u201d Jamie Foxx also took part in the Minneapolis protests.<\/p>\n

Many more artists such as Ariana Grande, J. Cole, Kehlani, Yungblud, Micheal B. Jordan, Shawn Mendes, and Camila Cabello also showed up to protests across the country. Some stars, including Halsey and \u201cInsecure\u201d actor Kendrick Sampson, were reportedly hit with rubber bullets fired by police in the protests in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

Halsey took to Twitter to share her experience. On Sunday, May 31, she posted an update from a Santa Monica protest. \u201cI dont know how to articulate the horrors of today,\u201d she tweeted. \u201cNG + officers firing rounds into kneeling crowds. We dont have enough medics on the ground on our side. I was treating injuries I am not qualified to. So much blood spilled. If you have med training pls go + standby outskirts.\u201d She continued, \u201cAnd a big personal thank you to @yungblud who literally ran exposed in front of rounds being shot to drag wounded people to safety without even thinking twice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Artists, including Tinashe and Chika, spoke about participating in \u201cnon-violent\u201d protests. However, rapper, Chika, was still detained for \u201cfailure to disperse\u201d and reported that the protest remained peaceful until law enforcement \u201cbegan beating\u201d protestors.<\/p>\n
