{"id":1878,"date":"2020-02-24T21:39:26","date_gmt":"2020-02-25T03:39:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/?p=1878"},"modified":"2020-02-24T21:40:48","modified_gmt":"2020-02-25T03:40:48","slug":"farewell-kobe-bryant-memorial-lawsuit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/home\/farewell-kobe-bryant-memorial-lawsuit\/","title":{"rendered":"Farewell: Kobe Bryant Memorial &#038; Lawsuit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bittersweet.<\/p>\n<p>As mourners gathered at Staples Center on Monday for a memorial service to celebrate the lives of Kobe and Gianna Bryant, attorneys for Vanessa Bryant filed a wrongful death lawsuit complaint against the pilot and Island Express helicopters, the company that operated the helicopter that crashed last month, killing her husband, daughter and seven others. The complaint cited the pilot Zoboyan failed \u201cto use ordinary care in piloting the subject aircraft\u201d and was negligent.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1881\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1881\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/07E8707D-D52C-499A-B511-158E57D5FA84.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1881\" src=\"http:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/07E8707D-D52C-499A-B511-158E57D5FA84-300x160.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"160\" srcset=\"https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/07E8707D-D52C-499A-B511-158E57D5FA84-300x160.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/07E8707D-D52C-499A-B511-158E57D5FA84.jpeg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1881\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Photo by Harry How\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The lawsuit says the company\u2019s \u201cbreach of its duty and negligence\u201d caused injuries and damages and that the death of Bryant was \u201ca direct result of the negligent conduct of Zobayan,\u201d which the helicopter company is \u201cvicariously liable in all respects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit will come down to if the decision to fly during the weather conditions was an actual breach of duty of care.<\/p>\n<p>Stay tuned to Askcarterlaw.com for updates on this lawsuit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bittersweet.
