Estranged. Rev. Al Sharpton files for divorce from long time wife. The couple has been separated for 17 years.

Reverend separated from his wife Kathy Jordan in 2004 and has filed for divorce late last week. The couple married in 2004 and were together 24 years before they split. They have two daughters together. Since the split Reverend has been linked with his girlfriend Aisha McShaw. It is unclear whether either of them will request spousal support.

Spousal support is the payment of money by one spouse to the other after separation or divorce. It allows the lower earning spouse to cover expenses and maintain the same standard of living after divorce.
