NBA player, Tristan Thompson, has a lot to celebrate lately. Recently, the NBA star signed a deal to play with the Boston Celtics after playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers for nine seasons. According to the outlet, the $19 million deal locks the player in with the team for two years. Now Tristan is officially an US citizen.
Tristan was not born in the United States. According to CNN, Tristan was born in Brampton, Ontario and moved to the US as a
teen to attend high school in New Jersey. Then Tristan’s basketball career took off early.
The news broke this according to a photo shared by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services-Western Region Twitter
account. “I came to the US on a student visa and have always had big dreams. I’m now truly living the American dream,”
Thompson said in a statement.
Becoming a citizen through naturalization is a process in which a non-U.S. citizen voluntarily becomes an American citizen. U.S.
citizens. Once they become a citizen, the person will receive a Certificates of Citizenship and Naturalization. This is proof of the
person’s citizenship in the United States. U.S. citizenship. Tristan now owes his allegiance to the United States and is entitled to its
