This movie was based on the true story of the FBI’s investigation of the Black Panther Party.The Black Panther Party for Self-Defense was formed by Black college students in Oakland. The Black Panthers preached black empowerment and resistance to racist violence. During the FBI raid the leader of the party Fred Hampton was gunned in his bed, along with other members. The family members of Hampton only received a million dollar civil settlement against the police.
