Britney Spears infamous “Piece of Me” song should also be the theme to her child support case with ex husband Kevin Federline.

Back in February, an attorney for Federline alerted Spears and her legal team that he would like to re-negotiate the amount the singer pays him in child support each month due to to the recent success she has had with her Las Vegas Tour and her expected success of her world tour. Spears, 36, and Federline, 39, share custody of two sons from their fraught marriage: Sean Preston, 12, and Jayden James, 11 (He also has 4 other children, 2 by his new wife Victoria Prince and 2 by Moesha Actress Shar Jackson).

Then on this past Tuesday, The Blast reported that after Federline asked for double the alleged $20,000 he collects monthly from Spears, the pop star’s father Jamie Spears who is the court-appointed conservator who controls Britney’s finances proposed to put Federline on a budget.

That of course did not go over well so now Federline is asking for $40,000 a month (double of what he is getting now).  As of June 2017, Spears is worth 34 M.  The couple was only married for 3 years and divorced in 2007.

I hate to say it (well not really) this is a perfect example of why you don’t marry someone you are equally yoked with on all levels especially financially.  Because when it does not work out the person that has less will clean you out and children make it easier to do this because expenses are hidden behind the custody of children all the time.

Britney’s way out?  Getting joint custody or full custody of her kids.  Kevin would then no longer be able to hide behind child support because statutory his amount would go down because he would have the kids less.  Right now Kevin is WINNING (*in the voice of Charlie Sheen*) because he has sole legal  (decisions about education, health, etc.) and physical (where the kids live majority of the time) custody of the kids.
