{"id":2590,"date":"2020-07-15T21:04:18","date_gmt":"2020-07-16T02:04:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/?p=2590"},"modified":"2020-07-24T10:51:19","modified_gmt":"2020-07-24T15:51:19","slug":"trial-for-an-in-denial-ghislaine-maxwell-pleads-guilty-to-sex-trafficking-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/home\/trial-for-an-in-denial-ghislaine-maxwell-pleads-guilty-to-sex-trafficking-charges\/","title":{"rendered":"TRIAL FOR AN INDENIAL: Ghislaine Maxwell pleads guilty to sex trafficking charges."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Maxwell Not So Well.<\/p>\n<p>Ghislaine Maxwell has finally appeared in court for sex trafficking charges by New York Federal Prosecutors. \u201cWhen asked how she wished to plead, she answered &#8220;not guilty, your honor,&#8221; according to multiple news outlets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Maxwell-2.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2592\" src=\"http:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Maxwell-2.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"210\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Authorities believe Maxwell helped her longtime companion, Jeffrey Epstein,\u00a0 sexually abuse girls as young as 14. In August of 2019, Epstein committed suicide in jail while awaiting charges for a sex trafficking operation. Allegedly, Epstein and Maxwell would \u201cgroom\u201d the girls for various inappropriate sexual activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSex Trafficking\u201d is a class B felony in New York. If the allegations are true, Maxwell could face year\u2019s imprisonment. The court could also impose high fines. Maxwell is facing serious allegations with many potential serious consequences.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Maxwell-3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2466\" src=\"http:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Maxwell-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Maxwell-3.jpg 225w, https:\/\/askcarterlaw.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Maxwell-3-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors believe Maxwell is a flight risk. Therefore, the judge denied bail after pleading not guilty. Maxwell is expected to remain in jail until trial. Maxwell will appear in court again next month.
