DROPPED: Rihanna Drops Trademark Claim Against Her Father

Rihanna puts a stop to her father’s unlicensed use of trademark.

The star’s legal team has filed to dismiss the case against Ronald Fenty and his business partner Mr. Perkins, although the reasons for doing so are unclear. Rihanna filed the suit in 2019 for her father was claiming affiliation with the entrepreneur without her consent. Previously Mr. Fenty tried to use her trademark to begin a hotel business, thankfully the US Patent and Trademark Office had denied the request.

Applying for a trademark can be difficult to do and there is always the possibility of the Trademark Office denying one’s request. Rihanna and her legal team jumped through the hoops and has trademark on multiple businesses. It is understandable why Rihanna wouldn’t want anyone using her trademark, even her own father.
