CHANGES: New Naming Rights Agreement Renames Staples Center to Crypto.com Arena

It’s the end of an era.

The naming rights agreement for what will be formerly known as Staples Center is ending soon. The arena will be named the Crypto.com Arena and the logo and name change will take place on Christmas day.

While financial details were not publicly disclosed, ESPN reports that Crypto.com is paying $700 million for the naming rights, making it one of the richest “naming rights deal in sports history.”

Crypto.com is a cryptocurrency exchange platform that was established in 2016. The platform has garnered several high-visibility deals such as ones with Formula One, the UFC, and the NHL to name a few.
