Censored: Taylor Can’t Perform All of Her Music at AMAS show

TROUBLE.

Losing the rights to her early music catalog continues to cause trouble, trouble, trouble for singer Taylor Swift who was just named by #Billboard as one of the top 10 artists of ALL time!

Swift on Thursday claimed an ongoing dispute with her former music label is preventing her from performing any of her past music at the upcoming American Music Awards or use it in a forthcoming Netflix documentary about her life, which has been in production for several years. Hit Manager Scooter Braun owns the rights to her first six albums.

She can only get out of this by re-recording this songs or similar songs next year. I also encourage new artists to have a clause in their record deal where they have an opportunity after a set amount of years to reacquire their rights back to music they wrote or produced. However this is almost impossible to do. Very few artists own their masters. One of them being singer Chris Brown.

Need a lawyer for your deal or need to file your copyright for your song?
